Mentoring + Youth Development Training

About the Training:

Master Facilitator of Youth and Life Work Practice, Thandor Miller, will be providing the information practitioners and volunteers need to strengthen their individual practices, support engagement and the healthy development of young people.  Together with the Mayor, Big Buddy is calling for the participation of 200 corporate partners, community organizations, and individual citizens committed to dedicating time to youth this year. The training session will introduce Positive Youth Development strategies and tools necessary in promoting transformative outcomes for our community's most vital resource - our youth. Participants will receive a Youth Development 101 Certificate and be immediately connected to opportunities to use their gained knowledge to successfully support youth in their development into contributing members of our community! 

 

The connection is to YOU!  Youth organizations and agencies in need of volunteer support.

 

Interested Agencies/Organizations:

If your organization/agency is interested in taking advantage of this opportunity to recruit excited volunteers.  Please read below.

 

·       Each organization/agency will be provided with an 8X10 table and 2 chairs.  If you have other requirements, please call 225-388-9737 and speak with Ms. Angela.

·       Set up is between 9:00am – 9:30am for the 10:00 session and between 12:00pm – 12:30 for the 1:00pm session.  Of course, you are welcome to stay for both sessions.

·       Lunch will be provided to all organizations/agencies that register.  No registration, no guarantee of lunch.

·       We are planning for 100 attendees per session.  Please plan your handouts accordingly.
