ReCAST Baton Rouge Observes Mental Health Awareness Month

With a Presidential Proclamation designating May 2021 as “Mental Health Awareness Month,” the White House recognizes what our ReCASTBR Coalition of caring organizations and individuals already knows well: millions of Americans suffer from a wide spectrum of mental health disorders, often in silence and too often alone.

We welcome this official acknowledgement of the need for greater mental health and trauma awareness, and for the coordinated systems of care required to address this pressing local and national challenge.

As President Joseph Biden proclaims, “We must treat this as the public health crisis that it is and reverse this trend.”
