G.R.O.W.T.H. SERVICES Pivots in the Pandemic

Today's opening presentation at the ReCASTBR Monthly Meeting was by Angela Robertson, PLPC Director of Schools with G.R.O.W.T.H Services of Louisiana, who featured her Scotlandville-based nonprofit community center and training facility's "pivot in service" in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Faced with unprecedented needs and challenges, G.R.O.W.T.H. has responded by offering new services and pivoting the delivery of some former services in new ways. Click below to view a short slide presentation illustrating their great community work in these trying times!

SAMHSA Video Challenge

Since joining the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention last year, I have been inspired by the amazing work our prevention partners are doing to support our young people during this challenging time. What has really stood out to me is not just your continued work and dedication, but the amazing work and dedication of the young people in your programs who have not just stood by during the pandemic, but sought out leadership roles within prevention programs, to bring their unique perspectives, skills and creative ideas to the work of prevention. This year during National Prevention Week (NPW), May 9–15, 2021, SAMHSA wants to highlight the amazing work of these young leaders by asking them to record a short video highlighting their work and motivation to take leadership roles in prevention programs.  See flyer for details.
