ReCAST Holiday Reception & Agency Recognition

ReCAST Baton Rouge coalition members gathered on December 19 at the Baton Rouge Botanical Gardens to receive official recognition of their work in 2019 from program organizers Joyce M. Plummer, Daryl Blacher and Vedette Bush-Jones.

Some two dozen agency representatives attended the event, including local government, nonprofit and faith-based organizations across Louisiana's Capital Region dedicated to building community and reducing trauma experienced by residents after the widely publicized violence, civil unrest and devastating floods of 2016.

Each participating group received a signed certificate of appreciation from East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor-President, Sharon Weston Broome.

Attendees shared news of their work to date and events planned for 2020 on behalf of the ReCAST effort, which is funded in part by the Federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
